BLADENBORO — Damarion Bryant fired in 12 of his game-high 22 points during a 20-5 West Bladen closing spurt that rallied the Knights to a 44-40 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys’ basketball victory over Midway Tuesday.

Coach Joe Harris’ Knight jayvees improved to 4-3 in the SAC and 7-8 overall. West Bladen will travel to St. Pauls’ Friday.

The Raiders carried a 35-24 lead into the final period, but Bryant bombed in a pair of 3-pointers and sank 4 free throws and another basket. Teammate Keonta Hill nailed a 3-point shot, JaQuan Lesane tossed in a basket and a free throw, and Jamari Adams popped in a basket for the Knights.

Hill followed Bryant on the West scoring list with 8 points. Adams finished with 6 points, and Donovan Tubbs dropped in 4 points.

Wilson Mayo and Camden Wilson shared scoring honors for Midway with 11 points each. Darius Lewis followed with 10 points, and Harry Johnson added 8 points.

Bryant blistered the nets with a trio of 3-point baskets in the opening half. Hill drained a 3-point shot and another basket, and Adams and Tubbs powered in 2 baskets each. Bryant and Justin Spaulding netted free throws for the only Knight points in the 3rd quarter.
