BLADENBORO – West Bladen missed 2 attempts at the winning shot in the final 10 seconds, and West Columbus escaped with a 47-46 non-conference jayvee boys basketball victory Tuesday night.
The Knights trailed 34-30 after 3 periods, but Jamari Adams and JaQuan Lesane threw in a 3-point basket and another basket each in the final quarter. Ayden Williams pumped in a basket, and Damarion Bryant tossed in 2 baskets including the one that trimmed the margin to 47-46.
Williams and Keonta Hill bombed in 3-point baskets for West Bladen in the 3rd quarter, Lesane dropped in a basket, Bryant sank 2 free throws, and Adams made one.
Hill scored 8 of his 11 points for the Knights in the 1st half firing in a 3-ball, 2 other baskets and a foul shot. Bryant rang up 7 of his team-high 13 points before halftime draining a 3-ball and 2 other baskets.
Lesane popped in a 1st half basket and finished with 9 points. Adams pumped in a 2nd quarter basket and totaled 8 points. Williams followed with 5 points. Kevon poured in 19 points for the Vikings.
The Knight jayvees, now 2-5, will travel to South Brunswick Wednesday.
