BLADENBORO- Justin Ward threw in 18 points to lead Whiteville to a 46-31 non-conference junior varsity boys basketball victory over West Bladen Tuesday night.
Corey Faison added 12 points for the Wolfpack. Sophomore Cade Allen topped the West Bladen scoring with 7 points, and teammates Tyleak Ballard, Connor Monroe and Noah Hall scored 6 points each.
Allen nailed a 3-point shot and 2 free throws in the 1st half for West, and Hall and Monroe added buckets. However Faison and Ward combined for 15 points to lead Whiteville to a 21-9 halftime lead.
Ballard worked the paint for 2 baskets and 2 free throws in the 2nd half for West. Monroe threw in 2 baskets, and Hall sank 2 free throws and another basket. Teammate Charles Williams buried a 3-point shot, and Allen and Justin Spaulding netted baskets.
The Knights, now 4-4 overall, will travel to East Bladen Friday.
