ELIZABETHTOWN- East Bladen dropped the opening set then battled back to win the next 2 sets and claim a 2-1 non-conference jayvee volleyball victory over Wallace-Rose Hill Tuesday by set scores of 19-25, 25-12 and 15-8.

Sophomores Aubrie Nixon and Jenna Brice smacked in 2 service points each to keep the Lady Eagles close in the 1st set until a 4-point service run by Payton Tyndall pushed the visitors in front 20-16.

Sophomore Mileigh Martin ignited a 16-5 East Bladen spurt in the 2nd set by winning 4 straight service points. Freshman Taylor Dowless knocked in 5 straight service points, and freshman Tatum Allen reeled off 4 straight service points to boost the Lady Eagle lead to 17-7.

Brice and freshman Kaylie Atkins captured 2 service points each, before freshman Marlee Potter served out the set to even the match 1-1.

Potter, Allen and Dowless fired in 2 service points each in the final set as the Lady Eagles opened up a 13-7 lead. After a side-out, Brice served out the match.

Allen racked up 8 service points for the winners, and Dowless was right behind her with 7 service points. Brice finished with 5 service points, and Atkins and Martin followed with 4 service points each. Potter and Nixon tallied 3 service points each.

Coach Jessica Eason’s East Bladen jayvees improved to 2-4 and will host East Columbus Tuesday in their Waccamaw Conference opener.
