DUNN – Midway dropped the opening set then rallied for a 2-1 Southeastern Athletic Conference junior varsity volleyball victory over West Bladen Thursday by set scores of 22-25, 25-19 and 15-9.
Kaitlyn Brisson pounded in 6 kills, 3 service points and an ace to lead the Lady Knights. Maddie Walters checked all the stat columns with 4 service points, 3 kills, an ace, an assist and a dig. Marlie Walters fired in 4 service points and a kill.
Shanyla Hunter keyed the West defense with 5 digs and added 2 service points, an ace and a kill. Marlene Crabtree slammed in 3 kills, 3 aces and a service point. Alina Chavez knocked in 2 aces and 2 service points.
It was the 1st conference loss for the Lady Knight jayvees, now 3-1 in SAC play and 5-2 overall. West Bladen will host Lakewood Monday at 4:30.
