BURGAW – Pender defeated East Bladen 2-0 Thursday in Four County Conference jayvee volleyball action by set scores of 25-8 and 25-13.
Gracyn Martin led the Lady Eagles with 6 service points. Teammate Ruth Ward and Faith Johnson added 4 service points each. Cybil Campbell tallied 3 service points.
Lorna Mendell hammered in 2 kills and a block for East Bladen. Johnson also had a kill. Adrienne Howell and Izzy Smith contributed 2 service points each.
Clinton defeated the Lady Eagle jayvees 2-0 Tuesday by set scores of 25-11 and 25-22.
Smith topped the Lady Eagle servers with 10 service points against. Johnson filled the stat sheet with 8 service points, 5 aces, a kill and a block.
Martin tallied 5 service points and a kill, while Campbell and Ward finished with 3 service points each.
Abigail Cross slammed in a kill, an ace and 2 service points. Howell also totaled 2 service points.
East Bladen will host Heide Trask Tuesday at 4:30.
