BLADENBORO – West Bladen swept Fairmont 2-0 Tuesday in Southeastern Athletic Conference junior varsity volleyball action by set scores of 25-16 and 25-6.
Tah’lea Bethea hammered in 16 attacks, 8 kills and a block for West. Kimberly Dowless rang up 9 service points including 3 aces, 4 attacks, a kill and dished out 4 assists. Sophomore Brenna Hester tallied 2 service points including 1 ace.
Lady Knight sophomore Kali Allen drilled in 8 service points including 2 aces and distributed 2 assists. Shanna Lewis knocked in 4 attacks, 2 kills and 4 service points. Freshman Karlee Gause fired in 4 service points including 2 aces and 2 attacks.
Freshman Ellie Kinlaw smacked in 5 attacks, 2 kills and 2 service points including an ace for the winners. Sophomore Makenna Thurman pounded in 4 service points including 2 aces, a kill, an attack and had 1 dig. Sophomore Jahyra Priest slammed in 2 attacks, 2 kills and 2 service points that included an ace. Helaina Conklin had an attack.
Coach Kaitlyn Sykes’ Lady Knight jayvees improved to 3-1 in SAC-6 play and 11-5 overall and will visit Red Springs Thursday.
