CERRO GORDO – Sophomore Kali Allen poured in 16 service points including 8 aces Wednesday to lead West Bladen’s jayvees to a 2-0 non-conference volleyball victory over West Columbus by set scores of 25-22 and 25-6.
Allen also had an assist. Teammate Kimberly Dowless fired in 8 service points including 2 aces and had 1 assist. Sophomore Jahyra Priest filled up the stat sheet with 3 aces, 2 other service points, 2 attacks and a kill. Freshman Karlee Gause contributed a service point, a kill and an attack.
Sophomore Makenna Thurman slammed in 5 kills, 8 attacks and a service point. Freshman Ellie Kinlaw drilled in 3 service points, an ace, 2 kills and 4 attacks. Teammate Tah’lea Bethea pounded in 4 kills, 5 attacks and a service point. Helaina Conklin tallied a service point.
Coach Kaitlyn Sykes’ Lady Knights improved to 6-3 overall and will host Lakewood Thursday.
