Whiteville defeated East Bladen 2-0 Monday in non-conference volleyball action at East by game scores of 25-18 and 25-22.
It was the first loss of the season for the Lady Eagle jayvees, now 4-1.
Dyasia McDowell fired in 3 aces, 7 service points and 2 kills to lead the Lady Eagles. Teammate Jozee Strickland racked up 5 service points, an ace and a kill.
Freshman Ashley Hardin knocked in 2 kills, an ace and 3 service points for East Bladen. Teammates Kaley Smith and Alexa Hernanaez tallied 3 service points each. Hernanaez also drilled in an ace.
Bethany Lesane slammed in 2 kills, and Shardajah Brown added one for East.
East Bladen travels to East Columbus Tuesday for a 4:30 match.
