On June 27th, the Lady Knights Girls Basketball Varsity team will hold their Summer Jamboree. The proceeds from this event will go to support the girls’ basketball sports program in the form of paying expenses for field and gym maintenance, uniforms, and equipment needs.
The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the West Bladen High School gymnasium and will conclude at 8:00 p.m. The Varsity teams from Kinston, Clinton, South Brunswick, Southwest Edgecombe, West Carteret, Whiteville, St. Pauls, Red Springs, Union, and West Bladen will compete throughout the day, with each team playing 3 games or more.
Admission for this event is $5.00 and concessions will be available throughout the day. Admission and concession proceeds will pay for the NCHSAA certified officials and the Bladen County Sheriff’s deputies who will be providing security at the event.
The Lady Knights are asking for additional support from the community. There are several levels of support that you may choose from. The gold, silver, and bronze levels come with perks, such as banner ads on the website, team pictures, tickets to the event, and other niceties. You may also choose to to offer your support in other ways such as “Hydrate a Player,” or “Sponsor a Game.” Opportunities to help are available from $8 to as much as $249.
