Overview: Tropical Depression #3, about 200 miles east of Cape Fear NC, has not become better organized overnight. The depression is expected to drift northward through tonight, then move very slowly eastward for the first half of next week. The depression could become a Tropical Storm tonight or Sunday. If strengthening occurs, it would be given the name ‘Chris.’

Potential Impacts: Mainly maritime impacts are expected at this time including rough surf, rip currents, and steep waves at inlet entrances. Otherwise, no direct impacts from the tropical disturbance are anticipated through Tuesday.

Recommendations: No protective measures are warranted at this time. All interests, especially along the coast, should continue to monitor the progress of this system over the next several days.
