DUNN – Midway defeated West Bladen 6-4 Tuesday night in non-conference men’s soccer action.
The Raiders built a 3-0 lead, before West Bladen’s Victor Lopez booted in a goal 2 minutes before halftime.
“We came out energized and ready to play in the second half, scoring 3 goals in about ten minutes,” said Knight Coach Phillip Turnage. Chris Frank blasted a pair of long free kick opportunities into the goal to tie the game. Minutes later Pablo Ortega fired in a goal that put West Bladen ahead 4-3.
“Unfortunately our defense broke down towards the end of the game allowing Midway to take the lead and the win,” said Coach Turnage. “Overall I’m very proud of the way that our team fought to get back in the game. Although it’s a loss. I feel that it has ignited our team and we can build off of it
