TABOR CITY – South Columbus edged West Bladen 3-2 Wednesday night in the Three Rivers Conference men’s soccer opener for both teams.
Junior Brandon Labra fired in his second goal of the season in the first ten minutes of the game for the Knights. Sophmore Wilmer Garcia scored his first goal of the season in the second half.
“Things started well for us with the early goal,” said Knight Coach Phillip Turnage. “Unfortunately the defense did not play to their abilities. We did not make the necessary changes at defender and midfield and they exploited that.”
Coach Turnage continued, “This game was a huge disappointment. We will make changes, regroup and get back at it Monday.”
West Bladen will host West Columbus Monday at 6 p.m.
