DUBLIN – West Bladen and St. Pauls battled through regulation play and two overtimes Tuesday night but in the end the teams had to settle for a 3-3 tie in Three Rivers Conference men’s soccer action.

“We felt that we had a lot of missed opportunities in this game,” said Knight Coach Phillip Turnage. “They scored a flurry of goals to tie it with 40 seconds to go in regulation time and send it to overtime. Nobody scored again.”

Junior striker Victor Lopez fired in the first Knight goal. Ten minutes later junior Pablo Ortega knocked in the second West Bladen goal. Near the end of regulation play senior Fernando Carranza blasted in a long shot to give the Knights a 3-1 lead.

“Goalkeeper Angel Martinez had another spectacular game with over a dozen saves,” said Coach Turnage. “We didn’t play good enough to win or bad enough to lose.”
