ELIZABETHTOWN – Jayce Hatcher pitched a 3-hit shutout and struck out 9 batters to lead Emereau Bladen to a 7-0 non-conference middle school baseball victory over Harrells Christian Thursday.
Zach Sholar drew a 1-out walk in the 1st inning and scooted home as Joshua Dawson reached base on an error.
Tyler Eason laced a lead-off single to center field in the Aviator 3rd inning. Sholar spanked a single to center field that scored Eason. Hatcher walked, and Easton Bostic smacked a single that scored Sholar. Hatcher scampered home on Tredon Scott’s fielder’s choice as the lead grew to 4-0.
Dawson and Hatcher drew walks in the Aviator 5th inning. Levi Harrelson reached base on an error as Dawson and Hatcher both scored. Jake Gooden knocked in Harrelson with a single.
Sholar singled, walked twice, scored twice and drove in a run. Hatcher walked twice and scored twice. Bostic, Scott and Gooden connected for run-scoring singles. Jamari Adams Peterson slammed a double, and Rogers and Eason added singles. Eason, Dawson and Harrelson scored a run each.
C. Barber pitched for the Crusaders. C. Harrell doubled, and L. Jackson and B. Frederick collected 1 hit each.
Emereau is slated to host Fayetteville Christian Wednesday.
