NAKINA – Nakina capitalized on 7 walks and 5 errors to snap a 3-3 tie and pull away for a 12-3 Waccamaw Middle School baseball victory over Elizabethtown Tuesday. The Cougars will visit East Columbus Thursday.

Nakina led 3-0 when the Cougars rallied in the 3rd inning. Damian Maynor and Prince McKoy drew walks, but Maynor was retired on Jayden Lewis’ fielder’s choice. Chandler Wall walloped a triple to right-centerfield that scored McKoy and Lewis. Fox Sutton knocked in Wall with a single to right that tied the game 3-3.

Wall blasted the 2-run triple and scored a run. Sutton had the run-scoring single, and Trey Sutton slammed a double in the 4th inning for the other Cougar hit.

Maynor started on the mound and pitched 3 innings for the Cougars striking out 3 and allowing 6 runs on 2 walks, 2 hits, 2 errors and a hit batter. Wall relieved in the 4th and allowed 6 runs on 5 walks and 3 errors.
