CLARKTON- West Columbus pitching limited Clarkton School of Discovery to only 2 baserunners Monday as the Warriors claimed a 6-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference baseball victory over the Blue Devils.
Clarkton, now 3-5, will travel to Tabor City Tuesday. West Columbus improved to 5-1 and will host Bladenboro Tuesday.
Ryne Priest drew a lead-off walk in the Clarkton 3rd inning, and Prince Powell belted a single. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch, but 2 strikeouts and a fielder’s choice ended the rally.
The Warrior hitters capitalized on 11 walks, 2 hit batters and 6 hits to score their 6 runs. Nobles batted 3-for-4 to lead the West hitters.
Priest, Omar Powell and Jerod Smith all saw time on the mound for Clarkton.
