BLADENBORO – ShyRon Adams and Joshua Lewis combined for 28 points to lead Bladenboro to a 46-20 Bladen Five Middle School boys basketball victory over East Arcadia Thursday.
Adams topped the Bulldog scoring with 18 points, and Lewis followed with 10 points. Teammate Gary Parker added 4 points.
Emanuel Lewis led the Panther scoring with 10 points, and teammate Kari Price finished with 7 points.
Adams drove for 3 lay-ups and sank 2 free throws to spark the Bulldogs to an early 12-0 lead. Lewis nailed a 3-point shot, a pair of 2-point shots and hit 2 free throws in the first quarter. Teammate Andrew Pait tossed in a basket as Bladenboro raced to a 19-7 lead.
Price bombed in a 3-point shot and a 2-point shot, and Lewis canned 2 free throws for East Arcadia in the opening period.
Adams, Donavan Stone and Parker threw in baskets for Bladenboro in the second period, and Lewis hit a free throw as the lead grew to 26-9. Lewis scored the Panther basket in the quarter.
Adams raced to the goal for 3 baskets and hit 2 free throws as the Bulldog lead grew to 33-16 in the third quarter. Bryley Williams buried a 3-point shot, Jaylen Monse and Ricky Brisson dropped in baskets, and Stone made a free throw.
Lewis pumped in 2 baskets for East Arcadia in the third quarter. Price popped in another basket, and Roderick Grainger hit a free throw.
Lewis made 2 free throws, and Cody Long tacked on a basket for East Arcadia in the final period. Parker tallied a basket for Bladenboro, and Monse made a free throw.
Coach Phillip Penny’s Bulldogs finished regular season play with a 6-2 record.
