CLARKTON – Khalil Morgan poured in 11 of his game-high 20 points during a 20-4 2nd quarter spurt that carried Tabor City to a 43-22 boys’ basketball victory over Clarkton School of Discovery Monday night in Waccamaw Middle School ‘A’ Division play.

Hunter Wood and Aarion Willis bombed in 3-point shots, and JaQuan McRae tossed in a basket and a free throw to keep the Blue Devils within 11-9, before the Eagles exploded in the 2nd period. Izaac Elkins and Noah White threw in a basket each for Clarkton in the period.

Omar Powell nailed a 3-point shot in the 3rd quarter for Clarkton, JaQuan McRae sank 2 free throws, and Wood made one. Cayden Moore pumped in a basket for CSD in the final period, and White tacked on a free throw.

McRae’s 5 points and 4 points from Wood led the Clarkton scoring. Tymion Washington followed Morgan on the Tabor City scoring list with 7 points.

Clarkton, now 0-4 in league play and 1-6 overall, will host Nakina Thursday.
