TABOR CITY – Isaac Elkins fired in a ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to a 9-1 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer victory over Tabor City Thursday. Teammates Salvador Gonzalez and Claxton Tatum scored 2 goals each.

Gonzalez opened the scoring for the Blue Devils, and Elkins knocked in his 1st goal to grow the Clarkton lead to 2-0. Gonzalez found the back of the net with his 2nd goal, and Elkins tacked on another goal that stretched the margin to 4-0.

Tatum cracked the scoring column with his 1st goal, before Elkins finished off the ‘Hat Trick’ and pushed the Blue Devil lead to 6-1. JaQuan McRae closed out the 1st half scoring with a goal that pushed the CSD lead to 7-1 at halftime.

Clarkton’s Noah White connected on a 2nd half goal, before Tatum rang up his 2nd goal that ended the game on the ‘mercy rule.’

Coach Robert Mazur’s Blue Devils improved to 2-0 on the season and will travel to Tar Heel Monday for a non-conference game.
