TAR HEEL – Levi Garcia lit up the scoreboard with a ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals Wednesday to lead Tar Heel to a 6-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer victory over Whiteville Central.

A Central handball in the box produced a penalty kick that Garcia smashed past the keeper for the game’s 1st goal. Teammate Andrew Martinez boomed a shot over the keeper from outside the box to pad the Panther lead to 2-0.

Garcia then raced to the net and smoked in an unassisted goal. Teammate Alexander Saraoz drilled a shot past the keeper when the keeper attempted to come out and stop him.

Garcia completed his ‘Hat Trick’ and stretched the margin to 5-0 with a goal that Coach Brett Jackson described, “Levi beat 3 Central defenders and the keeper. Davion Whittington hammered in a ‘put back’ of a Panther miss for the 6th and final goal of the 1st half.

Dylan McLaurin and Garcia shared the shutout with 1 save each in goal.

The Panthers improved to 7-1 on the season and will visit Tabor City Thursday.
