TAR HEEL – Gentry Thompson ran for 2 touchdowns and a trio of 2-point conversions to lead South Columbus to a 30-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference football victory over Tar Heel Thursday night.

Thompson ran for touchdowns in both the 1st and 2nd quarters and scored both conversions. A Panther fumble was recovered by South tackle Duncan Worley to set up a Cam Bellamy touchdown that pushed the lead to 22-0 at halftime.

Bellamy dashed 42 yards on the 1st play from scrimmage for South after halftime to set up an 8-yard Kevonte Phillips touchdown run. Thompson tacked on the conversion run.

Tar Heel (0-3) will host West Columbus Tuesday night. South Columbus, now 3-0, will entertain Elizabethtown Tuesday night.
