NAKINA — Amiya McCarty fired in 8 points Tuesday as Bladenboro remained undefeated with a 21-9 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ basketball victory over Nakina.

Allison Hickman tossed in a pair of 1st quarter baskets, and McCarty threw in a basket for an early 6-2 Lady Bulldog lead. McCarty rang up a pair of baskets in the 2nd period, and Addison Wilcox and Adyson Carroll popped in baskets to grow the lead to 14-6 at halftime.

Carroll and McCarty dropped in baskets in the 3rd quarter to push the lead to 18-7. Maycee Kinlaw sank a basket in the final period, and Brooklynn McKee added a free throw for Bladenboro.

Hickman and Carroll scored 4 points each for the winners. Addison Faulk totaled 7 points for Nakina on 3 baskets and a free throw.

“It was rough with our girls being tired from the Beta trip,” said Lady Bulldog Coach Hayley Baxley. Bladenboro, now 3-0, has a short turnaround with a game at Whiteville Central Thursday.
