NAKINA – Harley Jordan and Amiya McCarty combined for 19 points, and Bladenboro’s Lady Bulldogs rode a 13-0 3rd quarter blitz to a 31-18 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball victory over Nakina Thursday.

Bladenboro led 16-9 at halftime, but Jordan nailed a 3-point shot and another basket during the winning spurt. McCarty pumped in 2 baskets, and Karlee Gause and Allison Hickman netted a basket each as the Lady Bulldogs stretched their lead to 29-9.

Gause tossed in another basket in the final quarter and finished with 6 points for the winners. Jordan topped the Bladenboro scoring list with 10 points, McCarty was right behind her with 9 points, and Hickman totaled 4 points.

McCarty buried a 3-point shot in the 1st quarter, and Hadley Dove, Gause, Hickman and Jordan threw in a basket each as Bladenboro raced to an 11-2 lead. Jordan drained a 3-point shot, and McCarty flipped in a basket in the 2nd period.

Brianna Price and Ryasia Lewis scored 9 points each to account for all of the Nakina points.

Coach Otis Evans’ Lady Bulldogs, now 2-0 in league play and 5-0 overall, will host Clarkton School of Discovery Thursday.
