ELIZABETHTOWN – Alaya White poured in 16 points Monday to lead East Columbus to a 22-11 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ basketball victory over Elizabethtown.

White dropped in 2 baskets in the opening period then fired in 4 baskets and a free throw in the 2nd quarter as East built a 13-1 halftime lead. Malia Graham scored 6 points after intermission for the visitors.

Ariel Cromartie sank a free throw for the only Lady Cougar point of the 1st half then added 2 baskets in the 2nd half to finish with 5 points. Niyah Wooten tossed in a trio of baskets in the final period and led the Elizabethtown scoring with 6 points.

Elizabethtown will travel to Bladenboro Tuesday for a 4 p.m. game.
