ELIZABETHTOWN – Tevin McLean fired in 15 points to lead Elizabethtown to a 44-10 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ basketball victory over East Columbus Monday night.

Ayden Williams tossed in 8 points for the Cougars, Braylon Cromartie pumped in 7 points and teammates Isaiah Lee, Torrean Cogdell and Ronnie Covington added 4 points each. Adrion Jenrette led East Columbus with 4 points.

McLean filled up the rims with 4 baskets in the opening period as the winners raced to a 12-0 lead. Williams sank 2 free throws and a basket in the 2nd quarter, Cromartie buried a 3-ball and McLean and Covington netted baskets as the lead grew to 23-4.

Cogdell and Lee threw in 2 baskets each in the 3rd period, and McLean dropped in a basket and a free throw as the margin stretched to 38-8.

Coach Larry Williams’ Cougars will travel to Bladenboro Tuesday.
