TAR HEEL – S. Collins and V. Murchison shared scoring honors with 11 points each as they led West Columbus to a 34-13 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball victory over Tar Heel Tuesday.

Murchison threw in 3 baskets and Collins tallied 2 baskets and a free throw to key a 16-3 Warrior spurt in the 3rd quarter that broke the game open.

Leidi Zuniga popped in a pair of early baskets, and Tahlela Bethea added a basket that vaulted the Lady Panthers in front 6-5. Baskets by Janavia Adams and Jamaiya Ballard kept Tar Heel on top 10-9 at halftime.

Zuniga tossed in another basket in the 3rd quarter and led the Tar Heel scoring with 6 points. Abigail Dew sank a free throw for the final Lady Panther point.

Tar Heel will travel to Whiteville Central Thursday.
