WHITEVILLE –Williams Township battled back from a 10-0 deficit and defeated Bladenboro 13-12 Wednesday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference ‘A’ Division girls’ basketball action.

“We just missed lay-up after lay-up,” said Lady Bulldog Coach Otis Evans.

Janya McKeithan, Karlee Gause and Amiya McCarty tossed in early baskets as Bladenboro went up 6-0. Allison Hickman and Harlie Jordan pumped in baskets as the lead grew to 10-0, before Haley Morrall’s basket for Williams whittled the margin to 10-2 at halftime.

Hickman and McCarty sank free throws for the Lady Bulldogs in the final quarter, but Anna Sellers and Chloe Cribb threw in baskets for Williams, and Sellers tacked on a free throw.

McCarty and Hickman led the Bladenboro scoring with 3 points each. Cribb and Briston Parker scored 4 points each to lead Williams.

The Lady Bulldogs, now 3-2 in ‘A’ Division play and 6-2 overall, will entertain Nakina Monday.
