Lauren Bowen lit up the scoreboard with a whopping 5 goals Thursday as Clarkton School of Discovery clinched the Bladen Five Middle School Conference Girls Soccer Championship with a 5-2 victory over Elizabethtown at County Park.
Katie Evans assisted on 3 of Bowen’s goals. Clarkton led 5-1 at halftime.
Kenia Medina-Leal scored in the first half for Elizabethtown then scored again in the second half to finish with both Lady Cougar goals.
“I am very proud of how our girls played,” said Elizabethtown Coach Tripp Lancaster. “We won the second half 1-0. Most of these girls have never played soccer before and they are starting to figure things out. It is a fun team to be a part of.”
Clarkton School of Discovery improved to 5-0 and will close out their season against Bladenboro Tuesday at 5 p.m. Elizabethtown, now 2-3, will play Tar Heel at 4 p.m.
