WHITEVILLE – Ashley Rivon scored the winning goal with 7 minutes left Thursday to lift Bladenboro to a 1-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ soccer victory over first-place Williams Township.

“Ashley fought hard for a ball in the box and scored the goal,” said Lady Bulldog Coach Mike Dove. “Our defensive backs – Karlee Gause, Lily Hester, Amiya McCarthy, and Honesti Jackson – played the best game they have played all year.”

Saniya Martin recorded the shutout in goal for Bladenboro. The Lady Bulldogs raised their record to 4-3 on the season and will host Tabor City Monday.
