NAKINA – The Nakina goalie scored on her team’s final penalty kick as the Lady Mustangs edged Bladenboro 1-0 in the penalty kick shootout after the teams had battled to a 1-1 tie in regulation play.
Ashley Rivon knocked in an unassisted goal 20 minutes into the 2nd half to stake the Lady Bulldogs to a 1-0 lead. Nakina answered with a goal a few minutes later to tie the game 1-1.
Bladenboro, now 1-1 in Waccamaw Middle School Conference play, will host Williams Township Monday.
