TAR HEEL– Tar Heel’s Naomi Vicenco knocked in the only goal in a penalty kick shootout Monday that lifted the Lady Panthers to victory over Clarkton School of Discovery in the Waccamaw Conference girls’ soccer season opener for both teams.
Ashley Sandoval fired in a 1st half goal for Tar Heel. Rahnyia McLean drilled in a goal for the Lady Blue Devils as the teams battled to a 1-1 tie in regulation time. Goalkeeper Abigail Dew recorded 5 saves during the shootout for the Lady Panthers.
Tar Heel will travel to Bladenboro Wednesday. The Lady Blue Devils will host Nakina Thursday.
