A US Army training exercise near Elizabethtown sent some residents looking for cover overnight Thursday.
Residents reported hearing loud “banging” type noises and helicopters flying overhead.
Town Manager Eddie Madden initially reported the town was not notified, but it was determined the US Army did notify the town in August. He did say some residents had complained about the noise.
The exercise is believed to have taken place between 10 pm and midnight.
The exercises will continue Friday night.
