Jerry O. Owen, age 71, formerly of Bladen County entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday afternoon at his home in Dunn, NC surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stacy and Elnora Owen of Salemburg, NC. He was the second of six children and the life of every party. Jerry was a finished carpenter and professional truck driver. He drove for many outfits over his 42 year career before retiring in December 2015 to play golf and spend time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years Glenda B Owen and son Joey Owen and wife Paige of Dunn, NC; brothers James (Jim) Owen and wife Lexi of Eastover, NC; William (Billy) Owen and wife Rhonda of Fayetteville, NC and Jack Owen and wife Dana of Louisville, KY; sisters Janice Hill and husband Bobby of Warsaw, NC and Julie Pope of Clinton, NC.
A memorial service will be held at Covenant Love Church, 420 Dunn Road, Fayetteville, NC on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:00 am.
Flowers are welcome; however contributions are requested to be given in memory of Jerry Owen to Covenant Love Church.
