GREENSBORO – Laney’s Tyjhere Crudup and Triton’s Javon Cowan ran for 2 touchdowns each to lead the East to a 35-7 victory over the West Saturday in the 76th annual North Carolina Coaches Association East-West All-Star Football Game. It was the first time the East-West game was played in December.

East Bladen’s Rodney Lacewell played on the offensive line for the East and helped clear the way for 5 touchdowns.

Cowan broke loose for long scoring runs of 67 and 48 yards and was named the game’s Offensive MVP. Crudup bolted into the end zone on runs of 4 and 13 yards.

Conley High’s Isaiah Crumpler caught a 28-yard pass for the other East touchdown. Cape Fear’s Landon Sargent was selected as the Defensive MVP.
