Spread the love

A staff report

In a heartfelt endeavor to spread joy and sustenance throughout the community this Easter, New Light Church has united with Mountaire to distribute 100 specially crafted meal boxes in Bladenboro, NC. Cory Hester, the Creative Pastor at New Light Church, emphasizes the meticulous curation of these boxes so that each receiving family has a delightful Easter feast.

Contained within each box is a frozen roaster, accompanied by an assortment of trimmings, promising recipients a flavorful and satisfying Easter meal experience. From mouthwatering sides to indulgent desserts, these thoughtfully assembled boxes aim to extend warmth and solace to families facing hardships.

The benevolence of New Light Church and Mountaire transcends mere provision, as these meal boxes will be offered entirely free of charge. However, given the limited availability, distribution will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Residents of Bladen County, NC, are encouraged to collect their meal boxes from the New Light Connect Center, conveniently located at 102 N. Main Street in Bladenboro, NC. Distribution will commence from 10 am to noon on Saturday, March 23, ensuring ample opportunity for individuals to secure these essential provisions for their Easter festivities.

Mountaire’s longstanding commitment to addressing holiday hunger is exemplified through initiatives like the Meals for Thousands program, which has been assisting families across Delmarva since 1994. In North Carolina, these programs have been a steadfast source of support for over a decade. Through partnerships with local churches, food banks, and nonprofits, Mountaire ensures families receive a complete holiday feast, comprising a Mountaire roaster chicken and all necessary accompaniments.

This collaborative endeavor between New Light Church and Mountaire epitomizes the spirit of compassion and unity, as they join forces to uplift and sustain the community during this poignant time of year. Through acts of kindness and generosity, they endeavor to spread Easter joy and instill hope among those in need.

Mountaire’s Easter for Thousands program in 2024 promises to be their most significant event yet, with plans to pack 20,000 complete meals across four locations on Saturday, March 23March 23. Registration for boxes is now closed, with gratitude extended to all who participated. Churches and nonprofits that signed up will receive further communication from the Mountaire team.
