RICHFIELD – Elizabethtown racked up 11 runs in the first two innings and rolled to a 13-3 victory over Boger City Sundaynight in the North Carolina Dixie Youth Baseball Coach-Pitch State Tournament.
 
Elizabethtown will play District 9 rival West Robeson American Monday at 4 p.m. in an elimination game. If Elizabethtown wins, they will play again at 7 p.m. Monday.
 
Easton Bostic and Jayce Hatcher lined back-to-back doubles to start Elizabethtown’s 7-run first-inning. Bostic scored on Hatcher’s hit. C. J. McCracken cracked a single, and Brady Marlowe knocked in Hatcher with a single.
 
Isaiah Robinson belted a single that scored McCracken but was retired on Tyler Eason’s fielder’s choice. Collin Cole reached base on an error as Marlowe scored. Inman Carson laced a single that scored Eason.
 
Claxton Tatum swatted a single that drove in Cole, and Conner Hill smashed a single that scored Carson.
 
Elizabethtown tacked on 4 more runs in the second inning Hunter Wood led off the inning with a single, Bostic reached base on an error that scored Wood. Hatcher walloped a triple that scored Bostic.
 
McCracken smacked a single that scored Hatcher. Robinson’s fielder’s choice brought home McCracken.
 
Braylon Cromartie hammered a one-out double in the third inning, and Claxton Tatum blasted a double that scored Cromartie.
 
Bostic started the Elizabethtown fourth inning with a single but was retired on McCracken’s fielder’s choice. Brady Marlowe, Robinson and Tyler Eason clubbed consecutive singles that produced the final run. Eason’s hit drove in McCracken and ended the game on the 10-run mercy rule.
 
Tatum batted 2-2 with a double to lead the 18-hit Elizabethtown attack. Hatcher ripped 2 doubles in 3 at-bats. Bostic finished 2-3 at the plate with a double.
 
McCracken, Marlowe, Eason and Robinson all batted 2-3 with 2 singles each. Cromartie slugged the double, and Carson, Hill and Wood added a single each.
