The unwelcome weather we had last weekend brought golf to a standstill at Vineyard Golf. The staff at Vineyard did a great job in covering the greens with tarps to protect them during this cold icy spell. When the tarps were taken off Tuesday golfers flocked to Vineyard to enjoy the 70 degree weather. The course was completely full Friday. Both sides were backed up but the play was not overly slow.
The Tossup Friday found the team of Mac Porter, Charles DeVane, Lenon Fisher and Gary Smoak winning both sides. A couple of eagles were recorded during this event. Charles DeVane made an eagle 2 on the first hole with a gap wedge. David Settlemyer made an eagle 3 on the 490 yard par five 18th hole. Settlemyer hit the green in two and sank an 18 foot putt.
Tossups are held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday (weather permitting).
