Vote logoEarly voting for the March 15 Primary in North Carolina will begin on Thursday, March 3.  There will be four locations in Bladen County where people can cast their ballots. These locations include:

**The Bladen County Public Library located at 111 N. Cypress Street, Elizabethtown;

** Bladenboro Historical Building locate 818 S.  Main Street, Bladenboro;

** Dublin Lions Club Building located at 120 2nd Street, Dublin;

** East Arcadia Town Hall located at 1516 East Arcadia Road, Riegelwood.

The hours for all four locations will be Thursday, March 3, and Friday, March 4 from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.; on Saturday, March 5, from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.; Monday, March 7, through Wednesday, March 9, from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Thursday, March 10, and Friday, March 11, from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday, March 12, from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The primary date is Tuesday, March 15, and polls will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.

On the March 15 ballot, folks will be able to vote in county races, state races, US Senate races, and Presidential races. 

The NC General Assembly moved the primary date for the US Congressional races to June 7, due to a federal court ruling declaring two Congressional districts unconstitutional.  The Legislature has redrawn the Congressional map in question and Bladen County is now divided between the Ninth Congressional district served by Republican Robert Pittenger and the Seventh Congressional District served by Republican David Rouzer.

In the Democratic primary for the Bladen County Commissioner Countywide race, will see Avery Rising Jr. and Pamela Benton mount a challenge against incumbent commissioners James G. “Jimmie” Smith, G. Michael Cogdell.

One candidate has filed for the Libertarian primary for Countywide Commissioner saw Randy Crow file for election.

In the Republican primary for Countywide Commissioner David Gooden has filed for election and will face off against Billy Ray Britt.

In the race for Bladen County Commissioner District 1 Democratic Primary, Anthony McKoy will challenge Ophelia Munn-Goins.

In the race for Bladen County Commissioner District 2 race, incumbent Dem. Daniel Dowless has filed for re-election and is unopposed for his seat.

The race for Bladen County Commissioner District 3 race, incumbent Dem. Wayne Edge faces a challenge for his seat from fellow Democrat Kenneth Register Jr.

In the Republican primary for the County Commissioner District 3 race, Ashley Smith Trivette has filed seeking election to that seat.

In the Bladen County Board of Education District 1 race, Sabrina Murchison and Glenn C. McKoy will face off for the democratic primary.
