On August 30th, National Grief Awareness Day, PBS will air Captain Scott B and the Great Adventure, a feature-length documentary written and co-produced by Betsy Bertram, a student in WCE’s Elementary Education extension program.

In the film, Betsy follows the trail her deceased father left behind in his home videos and journals. Traveling from the mountains to the sea of North Carolina, Betsy explores her father’s favorite things—family, community, music, food, and a deep connection to nature, as she navigates the grief process and discovers the magic in each moment.

The Watson College was pleased to sponsor a screening of Captain Scott B and the Great Adventure on campus earlier this year. Attendees described the film as powerful and deeply moving.
