PINEHURST – West Bladen grad Sayaun Dent fired in a game-high 27 points Saturday to lead Sandhills Community College to a key 91-85 victory over Brunswick Community College.
The No. 2 ranked Flyers trailed for much of the first half before Dent bombed in a 3-pointer for a 39-37 Sandhills lead. Brunswick bounced back to lead 49-43 at intermission.
Dent’s short jumper gave the Flyers their first lead of the second half at 71-70. The Elizabethtown native totaled 6 rebounds and 3 assists as the Flyers remained unbeaten with an 8-0 record.
The Flyers will host the Francis Marion junior varsity Tuesday at 7 p.m.
