BLADENBORO – West Bladen filled the sacks with 34 baserunners in just 4 innings Friday night and rolled to a 25-1 non-conference softball victory over West Columbus.

The Lady Knights smacked 13 hits and were the beneficiaries of 15 walks, 3 hit batters, 2 errors and a passed 3rd strike. Meanwhile the West senior duo of Kylie Durden and Madison Taylor combined to pitch a 1-hitter and strike out 9 batters, while issuing 4 walks.

Durden gave up a run on 1 hit and 4 walks, while striking out 5 in her 3 innings in the circle. Taylor retired all 6 batters that she faced striking out four.

Sophomore Holland Davis batted a perfect 3-for-3 with 2 runs batted in and 3 runs scored to lead the West hitters Freshman Kali Allen slammed a double and finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and 4 runs scored. Junior Gracie Faircloth also batted 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Senior Mackenzie Singletary knocked in 5 runs with a 2-for-2 performance that included a double. Sophomore Marlene Crabtree singled and had 4 RBIs and a run scored. Taylor contributed an infield hit and scored 4 runs. Durden scored 4 runs.

Senior Kaitlynn Brisson cracked an RBI single and scored a run. Freshman Natalee Sykes belted an RBI single and scored twice. Senior Rylee Chadwick scored 3 runs and had 1 RBI. Freshman Jahyrah Priest scored twice. Sophomore Marlie Walters scored a run.

The Lady Knights scored 5 runs in the 1st inning on 3 walks, 3 infield hits and Singletary’s 2-run single that was lined off the 1st baseman’s glove.

West Bladen exploded for 10 runs in the 2nd inning on 3 walks, 3 infield hits, an error and the passed 3rd strike. Davis and Crabtree delivered 2-run singles in the inning, and Singletary pounded her RBI double to deep right-center field.

The Lady Knights tacked on 5 runs in the 3rd inning on 4 walks, a bunt single and Faircloth’s RBI single to left. West scored 5 more in the 4th with the help of 4 walks and 3 hit batters. Allen drilled a lead-off double to left-center field, and Sykes roped an RBI single down the left field line.

Freshman Farah Meares walked and scored the Lady Viking run in the 1st inning. Sophomore Hannah Lily drove her in with a single to right field. Sophomores Isabella Rogers and Layla King handled the West Columbus pitching duties.

West Bladen is scheduled to visit South Brunswick Monday at 6 p.m.
