ST PAULS – Johnny Alvarado and Jacob Knuth led Coach Wilson Bolden’s East Bladen Eagles to the Southeastern Athletic Conference boys’ cross country championship Wednesday.

Alvarado won the race with a time of 17 minutes, 25 seconds. Knuth finished 5th with a time of 19 minutes, 17 seconds. In the 6 SAC-7 races this season, Alvarado recorded four 1st place finishes and one 2nd place finish.

West Bladen’s Demon’tre Love finished 3rd in the boys race.

West Bladen’s Lainey Autry (pictured, left) finished second in the Girls Championship Race behind Clinton’s Evan Gillespie. Midway won the girls team title.

“Johnny received the Belt of the Year,” said Eagle Coach Wilson Bolden.

East Bladen: 11. Sabara McLean (28:00) 17. Gabriella Bray (30:57) 31. Brianna Phillips (34:00) 34. Niyah Wooten (36:40).

The Class 2A MidEast Regionals are scheduled for October 29th at WakeMed Soccer Park.
