Bladen County Sports Flashback: Bladen County Dixie Youth Baseball Four Homers Not Enough in Loss To Fairmont 7-6

Bladen County’s youth all-stars suffered a 7-6 defeat to Fairmont on Tuesday, July 18, 1989. The tourney was held at Bladen County Recreation Park. This loss for Bladen was the first in the District IX double-elimination tournament. READ MORE



N.C. Junior Dixie Boys State Tournament: Bladen County 5, Dallas 4

WINNABOW – Trey Wilson raced home on Stryker Pait’s ground ball in the 7th inning to give Bladen County a 5-4 walk-off victory over Dallas Sunday in the opening round of the 2024 North Carolina Junior Dixie Boys State Tournament at Town Creek Park.

Bladen County advances to a 12-noon winner’s bracket game Monday against Lumberton. READ MORE



N.C. Dixie Boys State Tournament: Columbus County 5, Bladen County 3

WINNABOW – Columbus County rallied from a 2-1 deficit and defeated Bladen County 5-3 in the opening round of the 2024 North Carolina Dixie Boys State Tournament Sunday at Town Creek Park.

Bladen County will play Lumberton at 11:30 a.m. Monday in an elimination game. READ MORE

Winter Park Wins DYB AAA State Championship

Winter Park defeated Topsail 5-2 on Saturday to win the Diamond Youth Baseball Division 1 AAA (Minors) state championship at Clarkton DYB Complex.

Winter Park will represent North Carolina in the World Series beginning Aug. 2 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Winter Park will play the Florida state champion in the first round. READ MORE



Bladen Recreation Youth Soccer Registration Underway

Registration for Bladen Recreation’s Youth Soccer Program is underway and will continue through August 9th. There are six age groups being offered in the fall.

Bladen County Dixie Boys and Junior Dixie Boys first-round games in the state tournament Saturday were postponed because of wet fields.

The games at Town Creek Park in Winnabow have been rescheduled for Sunday and tournament games have been pushed back a day. READ MORE

Rain Postpones DYB State Title Game; Rescheduled Saturday

Much needed rain Friday in Clarkton resulted in the postponement of the North Carolina Diamond Youth Baseball Division 1 AAA (Minors) championship game.

The game between Winter Park and Topsail has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Clarkton DYB Complex. READ MORE

Topsail, Winter Park To Play For DYB State Title

Winter Park defeated Hope Mills 8-5 on Thursday to advance to the championship game of the North Carolina Diamond Youth Baseball Division 1 AAA (Minors) championship game.

Winter Park is scheduled to play Topsail on Friday at 6 p.m. at Clarkton DYB Complex with a berth in the DYB World Series on the line. READ MORE

Bladen Dixie Boys, Junior Dixie Boys Begin State Tournaments Saturday

WINNABOW – The Bladen County Dixie Boys and Junior Dixie Boys All-Stars will begin play Saturday morning in their respective state tournaments Saturday morning at Town Creek Park.

The Junior Dixie Boys (13U) open the state tournament with a 9:30 a.m. game against Dallas. The Bladen Dixie Boys All-Stars (14U) are slated to play Columbus County at 11:30 a.m. READ MORE



3 Teams Left With One Loss In DYB State Tournament

Hope Mills knocked off previously unbeaten Winter Park 8-7 and Topsail eliminated Wilmington Supper Optimist 4-1 on Wednesday in the semifinals of the Diamond Youth Baseball Division 1 AAA (Minors) state tournament at Clarkton DYB Complex.

The results left three teams with one loss and will require an extra game Friday to determine which team represents North Carolina in the DYB World Series in Bossier City, Louisiana. READ MORE

The Southeastern Fellowship Golf Association played a two-net score tournament Tuesday at Vineyard Golf at White Lake with 47 members participating.
