Spread the love

Bladen County has long been host to many businesses, but a recent addition has firmly embedded itself within the community. In the heart of downtown Elizabethtown, the latest establishment, The Peoples’ Emporium, is the brainchild of local residents Jack “Dwayne” and Mary Miller. Their guiding principle is simple yet profound: “For the people, by the people.” With just over a year in operation, the Millers harbor grand aspirations for their venture.

The couple passionately portrays the store as more than a mere shopping destination; it’s envisioned as an immersive experience. Their inventory reflects this vision, comprising products sourced from local artisans and brands. Moreover, they regularly host art events to foster a sense of community. Mary echoes the sentiment: “I just want people to be happy in a community and to bring people together.” They love it when they get a custom order for someone, and the unique creation emotionally touches the customer. They take immense delight in fulfilling customer satisfaction.

The Millers eagerly detail their diverse array of offerings, stating, “We provide an array of classes and workshops! From Saturday craft workshops for children to engaging Ladies’ Night Out Painting Classes led by talented instructors!” They go on to explain, “Whether you’re seeking a venue for a birthday celebration, a corporate event, a bachelor or bachelorette party, or simply a place to unwind, our aim is to make event planning effortless, affordable, and enjoyable.”
