Bladen County’s pro golfer Kayla Thompson shot a two-over 74 in the first round of the WLN Central Arkansas Open Tuesday in Conway, Arkansas. The event is part of the Women’s All Pro Tour.
She shot 35-39=74 with 3 birdies, 3 bogeys, 1 double bogey and 11 pars. She is presently tied for 33rd place, 7 shots behind leader Olivia Benzin of Tacoma, Washington.
Play continues daily through Friday. The field will be cut to the top 38 players and ties following Wednesday’s play.
Thompson is a graduate of West Bladen High School and UNC Wilmington.
