Remember waiting for your 16th birthday so you could get driving privileges….Another group is on the way…Driver’s Education classes begin Monday at West Bladen High School immediately after school. Need to sign up at the school office and participants must be at least 14 1/2 to enroll.

UNCW ladies ended the 2014-15 season Friday night losing to Elon 60-48. Sarah Myatt (Southern Alamance HS, Burlington) transferred from Queen University in Charlotte for her senior year. Many of her family members live in the Elizabethtown-Garland area…She appeared in 28 games for UNCW with 7 starts.
Wingate University girls basketball defeated Lander Friday night 72-57 making the most of an at large invitation in the NCACC Division II Southeast Region tournament….Wingate, coached by East Bladen’s Ann Hancock, faces top seed and NCAA Division II number two Limestone (31-1) in the regional semi-finals @ 7:30 tonight. Limestone defeated Catawba 76-62 in a quarter final contest Friday night….The tournament is being played at Limestone in Gaffney, SC.
