Thoughts While ShavingSunset Jams – Alive After Five, sponsored by Southeastern Health, Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber of Commerce and numerous local merchants, begins June 21st at Goldston’s Beach from 6PM to 9PM.  Enjoy the music of Imitations.  Future events are planned for July 19th and August 16th.  They are free, a great time to relax with friends and enjoy the music.

Chamber members and supporters are reminded of the Annual Banquet, Tuesday, June 19 at Lu Mil Vineyard.  Social at 6 PM, Dinner and program at 7.  You should RSVP by June 17th.  Contact numbers are 862-4368 or 874-0285.  The cost is $25 per person.  Always a worthwhile event.

Boost the ‘Boro committee met recently. The committee awards a scholarship annually to a West Bladen graduate and is a sponsor of Beast Fest, that takes place the later part of October, as well as numerous other efforts in the community.

Elizabethtown’s West Broad Street has changed and more changes on the way.  The old Jessup Motors building is no more, it has been demolished and the lot is being cleaned up. A new look in that area of town.

United Way is sponsoring Crazy Color Run Event Saturday, June 9 beginning at 9 AM at the Elizabethtown Industrial Park on the lot behind Cape Fear Vineyard.  Proceeds benefit Bladen County 4-H, Families First, Inc. and Department of Social Services foster children programs.  Contact Stacie C.
