Is there a more beautiful place on earth than Augusta National Golf Course this time of year? The site of the Masters Golf Tournament … Justin Rose enjoys a 4 stroke lead after the 1st round … Brian Harmon and Hideki Matsuyama are tied for second at -3. Play continues today, ending Sunday when someone wins about $1.5 million, a green jacket and becomes the latest envy of ‘duffers’ everywhere…

Stock Market is rising, good for 401ks and other retirement investments…

Keep expecting to see farmers in the field, planting corn and other crops … soon…

Remembering as a youngster, pulling tobacco plants from the bed and ‘setting them out’ in the field, one plant at the time … Took two to do the job … Usually a male operating the transplanter with several gallons of water, and a female, (could be anyone), but usually a female, walking backwards dropping plants … thought we would never complete the project … but we did … No one needed to be rocked to sleep … that was hard work … one more reason I began looking for other type work as soon as possible…

The Lake Church has the best location I ever remember … on the white sand, water front at White Lake … Could be difficult to keep one’s mind from wandering … Takes a powerful preacher to hold their attention … and they obviously have that type…

On a beautiful day like yesterday, I would love to ‘pack up’ and travel the state, one county at a time and see the changes that no doubt are statewide … My job for 25 years was traveling the state, working with county officials in all 100 counties … best job ever … but time has ‘pushed’ me to the sideline … I watch the parade of vehicles pass by … Still enjoy … can’t erase memories…

Forecast for today … A slight chance of showers, and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84, 30% chance of rain. Tonight a 40% chance or rain, low around 60 … Saturday, again a 40% chance of showers, mostly sunny and a high temp in the low 80s.

“It is one of my favorite seasons, as it tends to keep me pepped up. This is the time when you can hear birds, chirping softly as new buds cover the greens.”

“Spring makes its own statement, so loud and clear that the gardener seems to be only one of the instruments, not the composer.” Geoffrey B. Charlesworth

“Spring is the time of the year when it is summer in the sun and winter in the shade.” Charles Dickens
