ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen swept West Columbus 3-0 Tuesday in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action.

It was the first win of the season for the Lady Eagles, who are 1-3 in the league and are 1-4 overall.

East Bladen rolled through the sets by scores of 25-7, 25-14 and 25-9. Junior Katie Evans poured in 24 service points and 4 aces to lead the Lady Eagles. Evans served out the first set with 6 straight service points and tallied 11 more service points in the second set.

Senior Adrienne Howell fired in 7 service points and 3 aces for the winners. Senior Shanell McMillian knocked in 6 service points and 3 aces. Junior Sara Gargala racked up 5 service points, an ace and 2 kills.

Freshman Acee Campbell hammered in 4 kills, 2 aces and 3 service points for the Lady Eagles. Junior Cheylee Mathis slammed in 4 kills, a service point and a block. Senior Cybil Campbell drilled in 3 aces and 2 service points.

Senior Lorna Mendell pounded in 2 service points, a kill, 2 blocks and an ace for East. Senior Lila McDuffie finished with 2 service points, a kill and an ace. Junior Kayleigh Raynor swatted in 2 kills and a block.

Senior Abbie Cross contributed 2 service points to the Lady Eagle attack. Senior Ruth Ward added a kill, and sophomore Alexus Mitchell had a dig.

Thursday’s game at Fairmont has been postponed by Hurricane Dorian.

East Bladen is scheduled to return to action Monday against Clinton.
